As of 9 November 2009, 1031597 Ukrainians are sick with flu, ARVI or pneumonia, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has informed today. One of the ‘victims’ comprised in this figure is me. I’m sick starting from Friday, but called a doctor only today. So, am moved from hidden sickness cases to the official statistics.
Meanwhile, the doctor told me I’ve got ARVI with some complications with lungs. I was told it is impossible to have a test on whether it may be a swine flu. (I sincerely hope it is not). So, I’ve started to take antibiotic the doctor prescribed.
According to the Ukrainian Health Ministry, starting from 29 October 2009, 174 Ukrainians died (19 – during the last day).

Greetings from Finland. Been following your blog for awhile now to get some info on how things are in Ukraine.
I hope you get well soon. Best wishes.
Take care of you.
best wishes from France. Anne
Greetings from the US. Please forgive the long post but this information could save lives.
We have been studying ways to lessen the deadly effects of this flu. Unfortunately doctors seem mystified as to why healthy young people are dying. It's called the 'cytokine storm' effect. Healthy people with strong immune systems have an over-reaction to some flu viruses and create massive amounts of disease-fighting cytokines in response. These cytokines begin to attack the lungs and internal organs leading to rapid death. The more virus in the body, the more cytokines produced. Reducing viral loads will reduce cytokines. The 1918 Spanish flu had the same effect.
These natural antivirals are very effective in reducing virus and cytokines:
--RESVERATROL Reduces virus in lungs by 98%, cuts deaths by 40%. Liquid form is best, hold in the mouth for 1 min. before swallowing. Use dropperfuls for babies, young children, very sick adults. Capsules work too, take 200mg. twice daily, children 100 mg twice daily.
--N-ACETYL-CYSTEINE (NAC) Capsules, adults 1200 mg twice daily, children 600 mg. twice daily, younger children half that. Open capsule and sprinkle on yogurt if needed. Available as prescription-only inhaler called MucoMyst or Mucosil. Doctors and hospitals should stock up on these. Use at first sign of lung involvement.
(Perhaps you could ask your doctor for the inhaler, Tetyana.)
AVOID: aspirin, ibuprophen, tylenol. They may mask important symptoms. 30-60% of patients in 1918 who took aspirin died. Some of the H1N1 deaths seem related to tylenol use.
Other natural antivirals which do not increase cytokines: fresh crushed garlic, green tea, pomegranate juice, fresh apple cider.
Hope you get better soon..
Please keep us all informed on things. I hope you are getting better. Many people around the world are keeping track of news coming from Ukraine.
I'm quite worried about the things that are going on in the Ukraine. I live in Belgium, and I have seen absolutely nothing about + 1 million sick people or the +200 deceased.
I've been checking out a translated version of your health ministry website with the statistics.
Maybe, if you can, or someone else, could record the news in the Ukraine, give it a proper translation and send it out to the world? Because there is a big media black-out on this matter. Perhaps you could try this with Youtube?

The reporting in the Kyiv Post is somewhat spotty, but it's getting better.
